Have the job count records delivered, messages sent, or another non-sensitive unit. Do not send customer payloads.

Why count the result?
A successful HTTP response or a green workflow run tells you that execution returned. It cannot tell you whether a customer received the thing they expected. A non-sensitive count gives you a small, testable receipt. Set a grace period for late jobs, and treat a missed receipt as uncertainty until you investigate.
